About Us

Hi, I’m Joe and I am the man behind the camera at Jameson Images, LLC. After enjoying photography as a hobby for most of my life, I began to research professional techniques and took the leap into professional photography in 2017. My cousin was about to get married in Alaska, and I asked her if I could take her wedding photos. She said yes, amazingly- even though I didn’t have much of a portfolio and no wedding experience. I continued my research and practiced on my wife, Morgan, a lot beforehand! We had a blast traveling and with the shooting and editing processes, and the pictures turned out great. Morgan helped me not only as a second shooter, but with editing that first wedding and has continued to be an integral part of our photography business ever since. We began to officially take pictures under a business name in 2018. Our favorite photography involves the beautiful outdoors, in our professional shoots as well as in our personal lives. We take an annual backpacking trip for our anniversary, and have made it a tradition to bring along a pretty dress stuffed in the bottom of one of our backpacks for Morgan. We get some amazing pictures in truly wild places. This tradition of ours is what inspired us to pursue mountain top elopements as the ultimate professional photoshoot. However, if somebody has a specific vision for their photos, we also love making that happen. It’s extremely satisfying to have happy clients!
Through the years we have gradually built our skills and knowledge shooting professional quality photos and video. Our gear now consists of a streamlined kit that is capable of capturing whatever we throw at it. I have stuck with Nikon because they make great cameras that feel good in our hands and have never let us down, no matter the weather. Check out the Q&A section for more about our gear!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Will my images be shared with the public?

A. We have worked with many individuals that would prefer to keep their images private and that is 100% fine. We will not share your images, no matter how proud  we are of them, without your permission. Your gallery will also be password protected to keep your images secure.

Q. Can I have someone accompany me?

A. Absolutely! We have no problem with you bringing friends or family with you to the shoot so long as they are not a disruption. We want you to be as comfortable as possible during the shoot so if that means bring family, a friend, or even a pet that is perfectly fine. We have yet to have to ask an accompanying person to leave. Usually they are very helpful and have a positive effect towards the shoot experience and images.

Q. How long have you been a photographer?

A. We have been making photography more than a hobby since approximately 2017. We first started our business in 2018.

Q. Did you go to school for photography?

A. No, I actually went to school to become a registered nurse and I am currently working as a traveling nurse in the operating room. While I did not go to school for photography that does not mean that I have no education in the field. I have spent tens of thousands of hours researching, reading books, and most importantly practicing the craft of photography in order to be where I am today. I am also continually learning and improving which I believe is essential to any photographers journey.

Q. How long will it take to receive our photos or video?

A. You will receive your photos within 4 weeks of the shoot date and videos within 8 weeks.

We know that you are excited to see the final images, and we strive to get them back to you in a timely manner while giving ourselves time to do a good job. We will get you a sneak peek of a few selected images from the shoot within 48 hours.

Q. Could you help us plan some details of our elopement?

A. Absolutely, we love to be involved in the planning process. We have the photographic vision and can give guidance of which locations and angles will create the most flattering light and composition.

We can help with estimating how long certain parts might take, gear/clothing suggestions, and beautiful location ideas – Or we are happy to follow along with whatever wonderful plans you may have already come up with.

Q. Tell me about the gear you use?

A. It’s not the camera, but the photographer that determines the outcome of a shoot. That being said Joe is a gearhead and is continually refining our kit to be able to meet any needs we throw at it. Our main camera is a Nikon Z8. The Z8 is a phenomenal mirrorless camera with cutting edge autofocus capabilities and is an absolute pleasure to shoot with. It is fully weather sealed so the camera can keep shooting even if the weather does not cooperate. We also have a Nikon Z7II as a backup camera. As for lenses we have everything covered from 14mm all the way to 500mm. I would say my favorite lenses include a 35mm prime lens and the almighty 70-200 2.8 zoom.

Q. Will you also deliver the RAW images?

A. Probably not. Unless you have a very particular situation we will not give you the RAW files. We are artists and giving out the raw files would be like selling a painting that is not yet finished. It could cause harm to our reputation if the photos are not processed to our standard. If you are unhappy with your final images we are always open to constructive criticism and will revise the edits within reason, until the photos have met or exceeded your expectations.

Q. What are your favorite type of photo shoots?

A. Hands-down, mountain top elopements are our favorite photo shoots. They are truly magical. We also really enjoy taking senior photos and creative portraits out in any part of nature.

Q. Have you ever lost photos from a photo shoot?

A. No. We have systems in place to ensure that we do not lose your photos. We use very high quality gear and keep it well taken care of and maintained. All our cameras use dual card slots which enable us to create an instantaneous backup of the photos in the camera while we are shooting. When we get home the photos/video is immediately uploaded to multiple hard drives.

Q. How will I get my photos or video?

A. We will upload the finished photos to an online gallery and then send you the link! At that point it is your responsibility to download them onto a device. We can offer a mailed USB for special circumstances, like if someone has limited internet access. All videos will be delivered via USB.

Q. What form of payment do you accept?

A. We accept a variety of payment options including all major credit cards, a personal check, or cash. If needed a payment plan can be arranged.
